Abstract

Abstract The main studied was the application of the problem based learning model. The purpose of this research was to find out the improvement of students' mathematics learning outcomes through problem based learning model, the mathematics learning outcomes at first grade students of UPT SDI 112 Kepulauan Selayar. The purpose of this research was to obtain overview of the application of the problem based learning model in improving mathematics learning outcomes at first grade of UPT SDI 112 Kepulauan Selayar. This research was used problem based learning model. This type of research is classroom action research, which consists of two cycles and each cycle consists of 2 stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research subjects were 15 students at first grade of UPT SDI 112 Kepulauan Selayar. Technique collecting data were include: observation, tests, and documentation. Analysis of the data used in this research was qualitative analysis technique which consists of students' mathematics learning outcomes that have increased was high category. The increased at student mathematics learning outcomes cannot be separated from the improvement in teacher teaching activities in applying the steps of the problem based learning model.
