Abstract

ABSTRAK Uhwah Hasanah. 2014. Komitmen pernikahan pada suami yang istrinya mengalami infertilitas. Skripsi. Makassar. Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Negeri Makassar. Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh pentingnya keberadaan seorang anak dalam sebuah rumah tangga. Namun masih banyak pasangan yang mampu bertahan meskipun tidak memiliki anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komitmen dipegang teguh oleh seorang suami yang istrinya mengalami infertilitas, dapatkah infertilitas mempengaruhi komitmen pernikahan seorang suami dan faktor apa saja yang dapat mempengaruhi komitmen tersebut sehingga pasangan tersebut tetap bertahan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi untuk melihat kehidupan pasangan yang mengalami infertilitas dan sejauh mana komitmen pernikahan mampu mambuat rumah tangga dapat bertahan meskipun istri mengalami infertilitas. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara mendalam, dan observasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa infertilitas memberikan pengaruh terhadap kehidupan seorang suami dan kehidupannya dimasyarakat, namun infertilitas tidak mempengaruhi komitmen pernikahan seorang suami yang istrinya mengalami infertilitas. But despite the presence of a child is considered to be very important, but there are many couples who are able to survive until now despite not having children. This study aims to determine the level of what is held firmly by a husband whose wife is infertile, whether infertility can affect the commitment of marriage a husband and what factors can affect the commitment that the couple remained until now. This study used a qualitative method using a phenomenological approach to look at the lives of couples experiencing infertility and the extent of the commitment of marriage is able to give depth to the household can survive until now despite infertile wife. Data collection techniques used are in-depth interviews, and observation. Based on the research results can be concluded that infertility influence on the life of a husband and influence of life in the community, but infertility does not give effect to the commitment of marriage to a husband whose wife was infertile.
