Abstract

The type of data used in this study is primary data used in this study such as data from observations, interviews, documentation. The methods of analysis in this study are data reduction, data display and Conclusion Drawing/Verification which aims to determine the role of waste retribution in order to support development in Ujung Tanah District, Makassar City. Based on the results of data analysis conducted in this study, it can be concluded that the contribution of waste retribution in order to support development in Ujung Tanah sub�district, Makassar City is still small and tends to decrease. There are several obstacles that cause small waste retribution and never even reach the target, namely low tariffs, limited human resources, limited infrastructure and low public awareness in terms of paying waste retribution. Meanwhile, the collection of retribution for waste/cleaning services in Ujung Tanah Kita District, Makassar has been going well. It is proven that Ujung Tanah Sub-district is a sub-district capable of providing good service to the community. Although there is still improvement in the quality of waste management services both administratively and operationally and the influence of factors such as the resources deployed in the waste service retribution are sufficient, the bureaucratic structure that has been running according to procedural, good communication both vertically and horizontally and disposition ( attitude) the provision of service acts has been running according to the rules even though it has been improved internally.
