AP Pettarani Makassar, 90222 ABSTRAK Komunikasi interpersonal penting bagi kualitas pernikahan, jika dalam kehidupan pernikahan tercipta komunikasi yang baik, maka akan tercipta pula hubungan pernikahan yang harmonis. Relationship maintenance merupakan upaya yang dapat dilakukan pasangan suami istri yang menjalani long distance marriage agar terciptanya komunikasi interpersonal yang baik antara pasangan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara komunikasi interpersonal dengan relationship maintenance pada pasangan suami istri yang menjalani long distance marriage. Subjek dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 34 subjek suami istri yang menjalani long distance marriage, Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Data penelitian diperoleh menggunakan skala komunikasi interpersonal dan skala relationship maintenance, menggunakan teknik accidental sampling dan dianalisis menggunakan teknik korelasi Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara komunikasi interpersonal dengan relationship maintenance pada pasangan suami istri yang menjalani long distance marriage. Penelitian ini menggambarkan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat komunikasi interpersonal maka relationship maintenance pasangan suami istri yang menjalani long distance marriage juga semakin tinggi (p=0,007, r=0,455). Penelitian ini bermanfaat bagi pasangan suami istri yang menjalani long distance marriage agar kiranya mampu menerapkan relationship maintenance, sehingga komunikasi interpersonal pasangan suami istri yang menjalani long distance marriage dapat terjalin dengan baik. AP Pettarani Makassar, 90222 ABSTRACT Interpersonal communication is important for the quality of marriage, if married life created a good communication, it will also create a harmonious marriage relationship. Relationship maintenance is an effort to do couples who undergo long-distance marriage to the creation of good interpersonal communication between couples. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between interpersonal communication with maintenance relationship in couples who undergo long distance marriage. Subjects in this study were 34 subjects husband and wife who live a long distance marriage, this study uses quantitative methods. Data were obtained using a scale of interpersonal communication and relationship-scale maintenance, use accidental sampling and analyzed using Spearman correlation. The results showed that there is a positive relationship between interpersonal communication with maintenance relationship in couples who undergo long distance marriage. This study illustrates that the higher the level of interpersonal communication, the maintenance relationship couples who undergo long-distance marriage is also higher (p = 0.007, r = 0.455). This research is useful for couples who undergo long distance marriage that would be able to apply maintenance relationship, so that interpersonal communication couples who undergo long distance marriage can be established.
