Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the effect of applying cooperative learning model on student learning outcomes in the mathematics learning process. The type of research used is the type of research using experimental methods and the approach used in this research is comparative quantitative. The subjects are class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sinjai. Data Collecting method using observation, tests, and documentation. The results showed that: (1) Learning with the application of the cooperative learning model of the make a match type improves student learning outcomes (2) the control group student learning outcomes in the Roman numeral mathematics subject, achieving the average category is sufficient and the experimental group student learning outcomes in the Roman numeral mathematics subject with the application of the make a match type of cooperative learning model reached a very high average category. There is a significant difference between the control group and the experimental group, so it can be concluded that learning with the application of the Make A Match type of cooperative learning model has an effect on student learning outcomes in Roman Numbers material for class VII SMP Negeri 1 Sinjai Selatan.
