EFEKTIVITAS MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) DENGAN PENDEKATAN CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING (CTL) DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI SATAP PULAU SEMBILAN KABUPATEN SINJAI SYAHRUL IRWANSYA MUHAMMAD DARWIS M ALIMUDDIN Abstrak Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen yang bercirikan adanya perlakuan (treatment) terhadap objek yang akan diteliti. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu penerapan model PBL pendekatan CTL.Satuan eksperimen dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri SATAP Pulau Sembilan Kabupaten Sinjaiyang terbagi dalam dua sekolah yaitu SMP Negeri SATAP Burung Loe 1 dan SMP Negeri SATAP Kanalo 1. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah model Problem-Based Learning (PBL) dengan pendekatan Contextual teaching & Learning (CTL) efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran matematikasiswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri SATAP Pulau Sembilan Kabupaten Sinjai yang ditinjau dari aktivitas, respons, hasil belajar dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Kriteria kefektifan terpenuhi apabila (1) skor rata-rata aktivitas siswa lebih atau sama dengan 70% aspek pengamatan aktivitas siswa berada pada kriteria waktu ideal, (2) skor rata-rata respons siswa minimal berada pada kategori cenderung positif, (3) skor rata-rata test hasil belajar siswa untuk posttest 75, untuk skor rata-rata gain 0,3 serta ketuntasan secara klasikal , dan (4) skor rata-rata test kemampuan berpikir kreatif untuk posttest berada pada kategori kreatif dan untuk skor rata-rata gain 0,3. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (i) skor rata-ratahasil belajar pada pembelajaran matematika PBL dengan pendekatan CTL di kelas VIII SMP Negeri SATAP Burung Loe 1 berada pada kategori tinggi, skor rata-rata gain hasil belajar berada pada kategori tinggi, skor kemampuan berpikir kreatif berada pada kategori kreatif, dengan skor rata-rata aktivitas berada pada kriteria waktu ideal, dan skor rata-rata respons siswa berada pada kategori positif, (ii) skor rata-rata hasil belajar pada pembelajaran matematika PBL dengan pendekatan CTL di kelas VIII SMP Negeri SATAP Kanalo 1 berada pada kategori tinggi,skor rata-rata gain hasil belajar berada pada kategori tinggi, skor kemampuan berpikir kreatif berada pada kategori kreatif, dengan skor rata-rata aktivitas siswa berada pada kriteria waktu ideal, dan skor rata-rata respons siswa berada pada kategori positif, (iii) pembelajaran matematika menggunakan model PBL dengan pendekatan CTL di kelas VIII SMP Negeri SATAP Burung Loe 1 dan di kelas VIII SMP Negeri SATAP Kanalo 1 berada pada kategori sangat efektif, (iv) pembelajaran matematika menggunakan model PBL dengan pendekatan CTL efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri SATAP Pulau Sembilan Kabupaten Sinjai THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) MODEL THROUGH THE CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING (CTL) APPROACH IN MATHEMATICS OF VIII GRADE STUDENTS OF SMP NEGERI SATAP PULAU SEMBILAN, SINJAI SYAHRUL IRWANSYA MUHAMMAD DARWIS M ALIMUDDIN. Abstract This is experimental research that characterized by the treatment to the object to be studied. The treatment in this study is the application of PBL models of CTL approach. Object of this study were the VIII grade students of SMP Negeri SATAP Pulau Sembilan Sinjai which is divided into two schools, namely SMP SATAP Burung Loe 1 and SMPN SATAP Kanalo 1. This study aimed to see whether the model of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) through Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach is effectively applied in teaching mathematics on the VIII grade students of SMP Negeri SATAP Pulau Sembilan Sinjai in terms of activity, response, learning outcomes and creative thinking skills of students. Criteria for effectiveness are met when (1) the score of student activity is more or equal to 70% aspect of student activity observation is on the criteria of ideal time; (2) the mean score of students’ response is minimal on the positive category; (3) the mean score on the posttest of students’ learning outcomes is 75, for the mean score of gain > 0.3 and classical completeness > 85%; and (4) the mean score of creative thinking abilities test of the posttest >60 are in the category of creative and the mean score of gain > 0.3 The results showed that (i) the mean score of learning outcomes on mathematics learning PBL by CTL approach in class VIII SMP Negeri SATAP Burung Loe 1 was on high category, the mean score of gain learning outcomes was on high category, a score of creative thinking abilities was on creative category, with the mean score of activity was on the ideal time criteria, and score of student's response was on positive categories, (ii) the mean score mathematics learning ouctcomes on CTL through PBL approach in class VIII SMP Negeri SATAP Kanalo 1 was on high category, the mean score of gain was on high category, the score of creative thinking abilities was on creative category, with the mean score of student activity was on the criteria of ideal time, and the mean score of responses students was on the positive category; (iii) mathematics learning of PBL model through CTL approach in class VIII SMP Negeri SATAP Burung Loe 1 and in class VIII SMP Negeri SATAP Kanalo 1 was on the category of highly effective; (iv) mathematics learning of PBL model through CTL approach is effectively applied in mathematics class VIII SMP Negeri Pulau Sembilan SATAP Sinjai.
