ABSTRACT ARINA ZULFA YUNITA YUNUS. 2016. The Correlation between Self Concept, Attitude, and Learning Motivation toward Biology Learning Result of the Students of Class XI IPA of Public Senior High School in Makassar City (Supervised by Syamsul Bachri Thalib and Muh. The students learning outcomes of Biology subject is considered low because it is influenced by numerous factors such as the students’ internal factors, namely self concept, attitude, and learning motivation. The problem of the students’ self concept is the students have a mindset that students who reach high learning outcomes will feel competent and meaningful. Otherwise, the students who are failed tho reach high score will not feel competent and meaningful. The problem of the students’ attitude is some students who have Biology learning outcomes below The Minimum Completeness Criteria are the students who follow the learning process and always bussy with themselves (talked with another students, online in social media, and disturb other students). Next, concerning the students’ learning motivation, teacher pays attention to students who have the score of Biology learning outomes below The Minimum Completeness Criteria, that the students who less focused on the learning activity. Therefore, the research aims to discover: (i) the description of self concept, attitude, learning motivation, and Biology learning outcomes; (ii) the correlation of self concept and Biology learning outcomes; (iii) the correlation of attitude and Biology learning outcomes; (iv) the correlation of learning motivation and Biology learning outcomes; and (v) the correlation of self concept, attitude, and learning motivation simultaneously with Biology learning outcomes of the students of grade XI IPA of Public Senior High School in Makassar City. The research is ex-post facto. The population of the research were all of the students of grade XI IPA of Public Senior High School in Makassar City of academic year 2015-2016. The samples were 189 students taken by using purposive cluster/area sampling technique. Data were collected by using quessionnaire and documentation. Data were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistic technique. The results of the research indicate that self concept and attitude of grade XI IPA students of Public Senior High School in Makassar City are in positive category. The students’ learning motivation and learning outcomes are in medium category. Correlation coefficient of self concept with Biology learning outcomes is 0.695 meaning that they have positive and strong correlation significantly. Correlation coefficient of attitude with Biology learning outcomes is 0.479, meaning that they have positive and medium correlation significantly. Correlation coefficient of learning motivation with Biology learning outcomes is 0.694, meaning that they have positive and strong correlation significantly. Simultaneously, self concept, attitude, and learning motivation with Biology learning outcomes have correlation coefficient by 0.788, meaning that they have positive and strong correlation significantly.
