Abstract

This study aims to examine the entrepreneurial self-efficacy of vocational high school students in Makassar City and its correlation with the backgrounds of the school and parents. The study used a quantitative expose-facto approach with a population of vocational students in Makassar. The number of research samples was 880 students. The sampling procedure used proportional random sampling techniques by considering proportional representation of subpopulation categories, such as areas of expertise, proficiency in vocational study programs and gender. The measurement of entrepreneurial self-efficacy variable used a scale developed and adapted from the Entrepreneur Self-Efficacy Scale from De Nobel, AF,Jung, D. & Ehrlich, SB (2000). Data analysis was conducted through descriptive and inferential methods with Anova statistical techniquesand the IBM SPSS Statistics 24 program. The results of the studyshowed that the value of entrepreneurial self-efficacy of students at the Makassar vocational high school was in a fairly high category. A significant difference existed in the values of entrepreneurial selfefficacy viewed from the areas of expertise and study programs, while no significant difference was found in values viewed from education level or occupation type of students’ parents of students.
