Abstract

One learning model that can improve the ability of students' interest and learning outcomes is a guided inquiry learning model. This learning model is one of the student-centered learning models. . This study aims to determine the effect of guided inquiry models on the interests and learning outcomes of SMA Negeri 1 Leihitu students. The type of research used is quasi-experimental research (quasi experimental). The research method used was the experimental method with two treatments, namely the experimental group and the control group. Data collection was conducted by interest questionnaires that had been validated by experts (validators) or student questionnaire experts who were given to all students who became research samples and learning outcomes tests consisting of pretest and posttest. The results showed that the average learning interest of the experimental class students who were taught with the guided inquiry model was 115.09 and the average learning outcomes of the control class students who were taught using conventional models were 94.88. After calculating the t-test test on the interests of the posttest of the two classes, a significance value was obtained (0,000 <0,05), at a significance level of 95% (α = 0,05), meaning that there were differences in biology learning interest in class XI MIA-1 and class XI MIA. The learning outcomes of the experimental class students who were taught using a guided inuiry model were 86.09 and the control class was 69.16 after the t-test test was calculated on the posttest learning basis of the two classes, obtained a significance value (0.001 <0.05), at the level significance of 95% (α = 0.05), meaning that there are differences in the learning outcomes of biology class XI MIA-1 and class XI MIA. the conclusion of this study is that there is an influence of guided inquiry learning model on the interest and learning outcomes of students of class XI MIA-1 in SMA 1 Leihitu.
