Abstract

Each periodization of government in each kingdom has a different dynamic and is very determined by the king. The Kingdom of Wajo before the Government of Arung Matowa IV, Lataddampare Puang ri Maggalatung, had a down because the King of La Pateddungi was not able to be a good leader for his people. Puang ri Maggalatung also placed the king, after an agreement with his people was pledged. The mandate of the Wajo people to Puang ri Maggalatung is well executed. Leading democratically, honestly and fairly characterize his government. The success in leading the Kingdom of Wajo is proven by the expanding power territory, maintaining the economic life stability, and the structure of government was running well according to its functions, even the royal organization touched all levels of society. The research method used is historical research, descriptive analytical with the aim of finding and describing in an analysis and interpreting the teachings of La Taddampare Puang ri Maggalatung. Historical research is carried out through four stages, namely; heuristics, criticism, interpretation and historiography. At heuristic stage, the activities are to collect many sources and information as possible to be used as data, both literature and documentation. Source criticism has been obtained in heuristic activities, and then selected, both in form and content. After finding relevant facts, the next step is to interpret various or stand-alone facts to be made into a complete historical story. Interpretation is the cause of the author subjectivity. Historiography is the last stage of the whole series of historical writing methodologies.
