Abstract

ABSTRACT NURAFDHALIAUSMAN.2020.PresuppositioninNaturalEnvironment Text(PragmaticStudyofYuleModel)(supervisedbyJufriand MuhammadSaleh) Theresearchaimsatdescribing:(1)thetypesofpresuppositionsusedin naturalenvironmenttexts;(2)theuseoflinguisticformsinnatural environmenttextsthatcontainpresuppositions.Presumptionisanideaor simpleideathatisabletodescribeeverytypeofresponsefromanaction, theory,expressionorutteranceorspeechthathasmeaningandisableto beacceptedbyreason(makessense).Thisstudyusesaqualitative descriptivestudyinassessingpresuppositionswithapragmaticapproach. Qualitativedescriptivemethodobtainedthedatacollectionbyconducted datacollection,dataanalysis,anddataexposure.Thedatausedwerein theformofwrittendatatakenfromtherespectivesourcesofpamphlets andpostersonnaturalenvironmenttextsfromvariousplaces.Thedata collectiontechniqueusedtheobservationmethodthroughrecordingand observation,andnote-taking.Then,thedatacollectedwereanalyzedin descriptivequalitative.First,thetypesofpresuppositionsfoundinthe pamphletsandnaturalenvironmentpostersconsistoffourtypes,namely 12existentialpresuppositions,24factivepresuppositions,2lexical presuppositions,4structuralpresuppositions,and3counter-factual presuppositionswhilenon-activepresuppositionsarenotdiscovered.The sentenceformusedinthenaturalenvironmenttextconsistsoffourtypes, namely,12declarativesentences,23imperativesentences,3interrogative sentences,and5exlamativesentences.Inaddition,sentencebuilding elementsconsistofthreetypes,namely,25verbs,16phrases,and4 clauses.Whiletheoverallpurposeoftheexpressionistorule,persuade, invite,persuade,ask,andappreciate.Second,thelinguisticform,namely theformofthesentence,theelementofthesentence,andthemeaningof thesentenceinthetextdominantlyusesexistentialpresuppositionsand factiveanditwasputindeclarativesentencesandimperativesentences;
