Abstract

Abstract. The study aims to discover the description and influence of divergent thinking ability, learning motivation, and learning independence on mathematics learning outcomes of cognitive aspects and skills aspects of grade VIII students at MTs PP. Al-Urwatul Wutsqaa Benteng Sidrap. The type of this research is ex-post facto which is causality. The population of the study were all students of grade VIII at MTs PP. Al-Urwatul Wutsqaa Benteng Sidrap. The samples were 123 students who were selected from in grade VIII MTs by using cluster random sampling. The instruments used were: (1) divergent thinking ability scale, (2) learning motivation scale, (3) learning independence scale, (4) cognitive aspects of mathematics learning outcome test, and (5) skills aspects of mathematics learning outcome test. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with multiple linear regression methods. The results of the study reveal that: (1) the results of descriptive analysis indicate that the divergent thinking ability is in high category, the learning motivation is in very high category, the learning independence is in high category, the learning outcomes of cognitive aspects re in high category, and the learning outcomes of skills aspects are in high category, (2) the divergent thinking ability, learning motivation, and learning independence collectively have an influence on the learning outcomes of the cognitive aspects of grade VIII students at MTs PP. Al-Urwatul Wutsqaa Benteng Sidrap, (3) the divergent thinking ability, learning motivation, and learning independence collectively have an influence on the learning outcomes of the skills aspects of grade VIII students at MTs PP. Al-Urwatul Wutsqaa Benteng Sidrap. (4) the divergent thinking ability influences the learning outcomes of the cognitive aspects of grade VIII students at MTs PP.
