Abstract

PENGARUH PEMBERIAN PAKAN RUMPUT GAJAH SEGAR (Pennisetum purpureum) TERHADAP PERILAKU DAN BOBOT KAMBING MARICA (Capra sp.) Muhammad Nasrullah1), Rosdiana Ngitung2), Muhammad Junda3) 1Fakultas MIPA, Universitas Negeri Makassar Email : ullah.smnsa@gmail.com 2Fakultas MIPA, Universitas Negeri Makassar E-mail: rosdianangitung08@gmail.com 3Fakultas MIPA, Universitas Negeri Makassar E-mail: yunda62@gmail.com Abstract This study aims to determine the eating behavior of marica goats fed fresh elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum) and also its effect on the weight of marica goats (Capra sp). Four marica goats were used (two male goats and two female goats). Goats were divided into two groups including control (one male goat and one female goat fed RL field grass) and treatment (one male goat and one female goat fed elephant grass / RU superior grass). 2 kg of feed was given in the morning and 2 kg in the afternoon and the remaining feed was weighed to determine the amount of feed consumption. The results showed that there were differences in eating behavior patterns and frequency of behavior between male and female marica goats, the addition of weight for male marica (P> 0.05) in goats fed RU, as well as for female marica goats (P> 0.05) at Goats fed RU ranged from 281.8 to 409.09. Feed consumption for male marica goats (P <0.05), for male marica goats (P> 0.05) ranged from 3.68-3.7. It was concluded that feeding fresh elephant grass gave an effect on the eating behavior of marica goats and also giving fresh elephant grass feed influenced the number of weight gain of marica goats.
