Abstract

Abstract This article describes the activities of women"s empowerment in improving family resilience. Empowerment activities aimed at establishing and developing groups of economically independent housewives, helping to create tranquility and comfort in community life, improving the skills needed by housewives to process waste silk cocoons into something useful and economic value. Benefits derived from the execution of such activities can create a more varied design of handicraft products produced, has a wider marketing network with cheap and fast marketing techniques. Mastering the competence of business management to run its business. The methods applied in this activity include counseling, training, mentoring and demonstration. The result of this service activity is the extension activity can increase awareness of housewife about the utilization of waste into something that have economic value and have entrepreneurship spirit. Training and mentoring activities in terms of production training created a new design of decorative lamps, Kembang kokon, Assorted souvenirs. In terms of administrative training is Bookkeeping that includes the classification of various costs, and calculation of production costs and in terms of business management there is a web or blog for media marketing of its products. Demonstration activities, showcasing newly created desig creations designed to add interest and inspire people to use waste cocoon to increase family income while reducing unemployment for women especially housewives and teenage daughters.
