Abstract

ABSTRACT Hajerina, 2014. The Influence of Learning Facility, Classroom Climate, Students’ Attitude, and Learning Motivation toward Mathematics Learning Result of Grade VIII Students at SMPN in Palu. (supervised by Muh. Arif Tiro dan Suwardi Annas) Problems in school related to external factors and internal factors that affect the output of the learning process of mathematics learning outcomes of students into the background in this study. The study aims at discovering the influence of learning facility and classroom climate toward mathematics learning result of grade VIII students at SMPN in Palu. The study is an ex-post facto with causality. The sample of the study was grade VIII students at SMPN in Palu of academic year 2013/2014 taken by employing two-stage proportional stratified random sampling technique which amounts to 198 students. The instruments used in the study were (1) scale of mathematics learning facility, (2) scale of mathematics classroom climate, (3) scale of attitude towards mathematics, (4) scale of mathematics learning motivation, and (5) test of learning result of mathematics of grade VIII. Data were analyzed by employing statistics descriptive and path analysis. The result of the study reveal that (1) most students of grade VIII at SMPN in Palu have mathematics learning facility which is in high category, mathematics classroom climate is in high category, attitude toward mathematics is in high category, mathematics learning motivation is in high category, and mathematics learning result is in low category; (2) mathematics learning facility given significant influence toward students’ learning result both directly and indirectly through students’ attitude and learning motivation with each of the influence 3,38% and 0,13%; (3) classroom climate of mathematics give significant influence toward students’ learning result both directly and indirectly through students’ attitude and students’ learning motivation with each of the influence 2,78% and 1,46%.
