Abstract

This research is aimed at producing is set of English teaching material to be used as development model at the fourth grade of Elementary School. The research conducted at Makassar, South Sulawesi. The methods of this research used development research by Borg and Gall theory. The research included 10 steps there are: (1) theoretical review (2) need analysis (3) the analysis of current model of teaching material (4) preliminary field-testing (5) main field testing (6) the model of teaching material for grade four of Elementary School (7) model revision (8) operational field testing (9) readability formula; and (10) final teaching material model. The result of this research shows that the English teaching material was suitable and effective for grade fourth Elementary School.
