This paper intends to reveal the function of social institutions A'pa Alliri in the social system at Matajang society. To explore this, i use qualitative methods with phenomenological approach. Data collection technique are the observation and depth interviews to four people of A'pa Alliri as informants. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis. The findings of this study is A'pa Alliri Institution has four social functions, namely: (1) as the social cohesion function. (2) as the social solidarity function. (3) as the welfare function. (4) as the Safety functions.
