Question Before Reading with Discovery Learning Procedure (QBRDLP) in Improving the Students’ Reading Comprehension at Universitas Bosowa 45 Makassar. (Supervised by Muhamad Amin Rasyid and Haryanto ). The objectives of this research were: (1) to find out the effectiveness of using QBRDLP in improving the students’ reading comprehension of English Department FKIP Universitas Bosowa 45 Makassar, and (2) to explain the state of the students’ interest in the implementation of QBRDLP. This research employed quasi experimental design. The population of this research was the fourth semester students of Universitas Bosowa 45 Makassar in 2015/2016 academic year. This research used cluster random sampling. The sample of this research consisted of 72 in which 37 students in control group and 37 students in experimental group. The research data were collected by using reading comprehension test and questionnaire which was analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistic through SPSS version 16 for windows 7 32 bit. The students’ result of posttest of experimental group more significantly improved than the students’ result of posttest of control group by the mean score 69.14 > 34.57. The difference of both scores is statistically significant based on the t-test value at significant level 0.05 in which the probability value is longer than the significant level (0.00 < 0.05). The mean score of the interest is 79.57 and it is categorized as interesting. It was concluded that the use of QBRDLP is effective to be implemented in improving the students’ reading comprehension focusing on literal, inferential and critical comprehension. Beside that, the students have high interest in learning Reading subject through the QBRDLP. ABSTRAK SAHADAN BIN IMRAN. Pertanyaan Sebelum Membaca dengan Prosedur Belajar Menemukan (PSMPBM) dalam Meningkatkan Pemahaman Membaca Mahasiswa Universitas Bosowa 45 Makassar. (Dibimbing Oleh Muhamad Amin Rasyid dan Haryanto ). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan PSMPBM dapat meningkatkan pemahaman membaca mahasiswa secara signifikan dan (2) untuk mengetahui ketertarikan siswa dalam membaca melalui penggunaan PSMPBM. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi experimental. Populasi penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester IV Universitas Bosowa 45 Makassar tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan kluster sampling. Sample dalam penelitian terdiri dari 72 yang mana 35 mahasiswa dari kelas kontrol dan 37 mahasiswa pada kelas eksperimen. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes pemahaman membaca dan kuesioner yang dianalisa secara deskriptif dan statistik inferensial menggunakan program SPSS versi 16 untuk Windows 7 32 bit. Hasil posttest pada kelas eksperimen secara sigifikan meningkat dibandingkan dengan hasil posttest pada kelas control dengan rata-rata 69.14 > 34.57. Perbedaan dari kedua nilai tersebut sangat signifikan berdasarkan uji-t pada level signifikansi 0.05 dimana nilai probabilitas lebih rendah dari tingkat signifikansi (0.00 < 0.05). Nilai rata-rata ketertarikan mahasiswa adalah 79.57 dan dikategorikan tertarik. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan PSMPBM efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman membaca fokus pada pemahaman harfiah, menarik kesimpulan dan kritis. Disamping itu, PSMPBM mampu menarik minat mahasiswa dalam belajar Reading.
