Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the application of PBM learning models through Mind Mapping with the application of Scientific in mathematics learning for students of SMA Negeri 12 Makassar. This type of research is quantitative research, namely pre-experimental research. The population in this study was class X and class X IPA 4 as the experimental class selected using cluster random sampling technique. The data collected consisted of data on student learning outcomes, data on student activities in learning, and data on student responses to learning. The instruments used in this study wer e mathematics learning achievement test sheets, student activity observation sheets, and student response questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. Descriptive analysis results show that (1) Student mathematics learning outcomes (post-test) in the experimental class are appropriate for the high category. (2) The level of classical completeness in the pre-test does not meet the minimum completeness criteria while the post-test in the category is complete. (3) The average normalized gain is in the high category. (4) Student activities are in good category. (5) Student responses to the application of PBM learning models through mind mapping using scientific methods depend on the categories of positive use. The resul ts of inferential analysis using one sample t -test to collect hypotheses that show student learning outcomes data and obtain normalized obtained significant pvalue = 0.001 < α = 0.05. Based on the results of descriptive and inferential analysis it can be concluded regarding the application of the Problem Based Learning Model (PBM) through Mind Mapping with the Scientific Approach to effective mathematics learning in SMA Negeri 12 Makassar.
