Abstract

Abstract: The effectiveness of media series picture in learning the narrative text writing on student grade VII at SMPN 1 Palopo. This research is a quasiexperimental that aims to know the effectiveness of employing the media of series picture in learning the narrative text writing on student grade VII of SMP Negeri 1 Palopo. The free-variable in this research is the series picture media, while the tievariable is the results of learning students to write narrative text. The popullation in this research is all the students of SMPN 1 Palopo who grade VII, while the sample are the class VII A as a experiment-group with 29 students and the class VII B as a control-group with 29 students. The data in this research are by giving a pretest and posttest. The thecnique of analysis are use a statistic descriptive analysis and a statistic inferential analysis. The results in this research are indicate that (1) on the experiment-group, the skill of write a narrative text the students of SMPN 1 Palopo on pretest are not too effective and there are differential on posttes who using the media of series picture with the category is enough effective, (2) on the control-group, the skill of write a narrative text the student of SMPN 1 Palopo on pretest are not too effective and there are not too much differential on posttes with same category, that is not too effective, (3 ) the media of series pictures is effective to use on learning the narrative text writing the students grade VII at SMPN 1 Palopo.
