Abstract
This research aimed to examine the correlation between interest and English learning achievement of second grade students at SMAN 5 Bone, the correlation between motivation and English learning achievement of second grade students at SMAN 5 Bone, the correlation between attitude and English learning achievement of second grade students at SMAN 5 Bone, and the correlation between affective factors (interest, motivation, attitude) and English learning achievement of second grades at SMAN 5 Bone. This research was classified as assosiative research with quantitative approach. The population of the research was the second grade students at SMAN 5 Bone. The sample consisted of 37 students. This research was conducted in september-october 2018. The sample of this research was taken by used accidental sampling technique. The data were collected using observation, questionnaire, and documentation. Before committing the data analysis, the data was tested by assumption test include: normality test, linearity test, and multicollinearity test. Technique of data analysis used simply correlation and multiple correlation of analysis. The results of the research were 1) there is correlation between interest and English learning achievement of second grade students at SMAN 5 Bone, proved by the correlation coefficient rcount was 0.605 greater than rtable at a significance level of 5% and n = 37 of 0.320 (0.605 > 0.320). 2) there is correlation between motivation and English learning achievement of second grade students at SMAN 5 Bone, proved by the correlation coefficient rcount was 0.823 greater than rtable at 5% significance level and n = 37 at 0.320 (0.823 > 0.320). 3) there is correlation between attitude and English learning achievement of second grade students at SMAN 5 Bone, proved by the correlation coefficient rcounted was 0.621 greater than rtable at 5% significance level and n = 37 at 0.320 (0.621 > 0.320), and 4) there is correlation between affective factors (interest, motivation, attitude) and English learning achievement of second grade students at SMAN 5 Bone, it can be seen from correlation coefficient (R) of 0.906 and obtained Fcount equal to 50.227 larger than Ftabel at the 5% significance level of 2.89 (50.227 > 2.89), and the probability of Fcount is smaller than the significance level of 5% (0.000 < 0.05).
