Abstract

ABSTRACT This study is pre-experimental research, which aims at examining the influence of appliying cooperative learning model of TwoStay Two Stray tyoe with realistic approach on motivation and learning outcomes of grade VII at SMPN 4 Pinrang in 2018. The subjects of this study were grade VII students at SMPN 4 Pinrangof the first semester of academic year 2018/2019 which consisted of 5 classes, namely class VII.1, VII.2, VII.3, VII.4, and VII.5. The experimental unit of the study was class VII.3 with 26 students obtained through cluster random sampling technique. Data obtained by using instruments in the form of learning tests given to students at the end of the lesson, motivation questionnaire to discover students’motivation on cooperative learning model of Two Stay Two Stray type with realistic approach, and observation sheet of learning implementation to discover learning implementation of cooperative learning model of Two Stay Two Stray type with realistic approach. Student learning outcomes data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis. the results of the descriptive analysis showed 26 students in the experimental unit obtained the highest score by 87 and the lowest obtained 65. The average score of studens was 78,81; whereas, the inferential analysis showed that sig >α so the average oof learning outcomes was above the KKM, completed classically, and the improvement of learning outcomes was in moderate category. The results of the analysis for student motivation showed that from26 students in the experimental unit had a positive influence in the high category of cooperative learning of Two Stay Two Stray tyoe and this learning was conducted well obtained from the observation implementation observation sheet filled by the observers. Based on the analysis, it can be concludedthat the cooperative learning of Two stay Two Stray type with realistic approach gives influence on motivation and learning outcomes.
