Abstract

ABSTRAK Learning the 21st century as a century of learning demands a paradigm shift in learning and teaching. Learners must be able to learn independently, able to manage time, able to solve problems, and able to access information. Supports from various media and learning resources are adjusted to the development of technology and information. The use of learning media at the learning orientation stage will greatly help the effectiveness of the learning process in terms of delivering messages and learning content. Considering the importance of learning media, teacher as a facilitator and creator is required to always be able to develop technology products in order to improve the learning process. One of them is by visualizing abstract learning through visual and audio media by combining texts, images. And sounds on the material substance with Android application format. The purpose of this study is to produce a product in a form of a mathematical learning media based on Android applications on integer material that meets the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This study is research and development. The development procedure used is the ADDIE development model with 5 stages that each cycel consisted of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The reserch subjects were 2 Math teachers and 30 students of gradde VII.1 at SMPN 2 Sengkang. The results of the study reveal that (1) the Android application-based learning media meets the validity criteria based on the validations from material experts and media expert; thus, it is suitable to be applied in Mathematics learning, (2) the Android applications-based learning media meets the practicality criteria based on the results of the teacher’s response, observation of the implementation of media used, and observation of the implementation of learning. The teachers gives a very positive response, the result of observation on the implementation of learning is in high criteria, (3) Android application-based learning media meets the effectiveness criteria based on the observation of students’learning activities, test of learning outcomes, and students’responses. The application of Android application-based learning media gives results with good criteria based on learning activities observation, learning outcomes test reaches classical completeness, and the teacher gives a positive response to the media.
