The study aims at obtaining description of creative thinking ability in solving sequence and series problem based on personality traits of grade XII students at SMAN 4 Bantaeng. The study was descriptive research with qualitative approach. The research subjects were 4 people who were divide into 2 categories of personality traits, namely 2 subjects with extroversion personality traits and 2 subjects with openness to experience personality traits obtained from grade XII student at SMAN 4 Bantaeng. The research instrument were the researcher herself as the main instrument, personality trait questionnaire, creative thinking ability test in problem solving, and interview guidance as supporting instrument. Data were collected by conducting method triangulation. Data were then analyzed by conducting by several stages, namely (1) examining all data from various sources, (2) data reduction, (3) data display, (4) data presentantion, (5) conclusion drawing. The result of study reveal that in solving sequence and sries problems given: (1) the subject with extroversion personality trait were able to show fluency indicator well, because they were able to give various answer in solving the problem. Besides, the subjects were also able to show flexibility indicator although the answer given were limited. The subjects were able to show originality indicator and the subject were also able to show elaboration indicator by giving detail solution. (2) subjects with openness to experience personality traits were able to show fluency indicator and flexibility indicator. However, they were not able to show originality indicator and elaboration indicator in solving the sequence and series problem.
