Abstract

ABSTRAK SYAFRUDDIN SYAFAR. 2013. Profil Taksonomi Pengetahuan Siswa SMP dalam Pemecahan Masalah Soal Cerita Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel Ditinjau dari Gaya Kognitif. (Dibimbing oleh Suradi Tahmir dan Alimuddin). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: 1) Untuk mengetahui profil taksonomi pengetahuan siswa dalam pemecahan masalah soal cerita sistem persamaan linear dua variabel ditinjau dari gaya kognitif. 2) Untuk mengetahui perbandingan taksonomi pengetahuan siswa dalam pemecahan masalah soal cerita sistem persamaan linear dua variabel ditinjau dari gaya kognitif. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif yaitu untuk mengetahui Profil Taksonomi Pengetahuan Siswa SMP dalam Pemecahan Masalah Soal Cerita Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel Ditinjau dari Gaya Kognitif. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri sebagai instrumen utama yang dipandu oleh tugas pemecahan masalah soal cerita sistem persamaan linear dua variabel dan pedoman wawancara yang valid dan reliabel. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara berbasis tugas. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 Marioriwawo Kabupaten Soppeng yang terdiri dari dua orang subjek yaitu seorang yang berada pada kategori field independent yang selanjutnya disebut subjek field independent (SFI), dan seorang yang berada pada kategori field dependent yang selanjutnya disebut subjek field dependent (SFD). Proses penelitiannya mengikuti tahap-tahap: (a) merumuskan indikator taksonomi pengetahuan dalam pemecahan masalah soal cerita sistem persamaan linear dua variabel ditinjau dari dari gaya kognitif, (b) merumuskan instrumen pendukung (tugas pemecahan masalah soal cerita sistem persamaan linear dua variabel ditinjau dari dari gaya kognitif dan pedoman wawancara) yang valid dan reliabel, (c) menetapkan subjek penelitian dengan menggunakan tes GEFT (d) melakukan pengambilan subjek penelitian, (e) melakukan pengambilan data untuk mengungkap profil taksonomi pengetahuan siswa dalam pemecahan masalah soal cerita sistem persamaan linear dua variabel, (f) melakukan triangulasi untuk mendapatkan data yang valid, (g) melakukan analisis data taksonomi pengetahuan siswa dalam pemecahan masalah soal cerita sistem persamaan linear dua variabel ditinjau dari gaya kognitif, (h) melakukan pembahasan hasil analisis, (i) melakukan penarikan kesimpulan hasil penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) tidak ada perbedaan secara signifikan antara taksonomi pengetahuan subjek field independent (SFI) dan subjek field dependent (SFD) dalam pemecahan masalah soal cerita sistem persamaan linear dua variabel ditinjau dari gaya kognitif, hanya terjadi perbedaan yang menonjol pada pengetahuan konseptual (PK) yaitu pada pengetahuan konseptual ini, subjek field independent (SFI) menuliskan model matematika dan menetapkan suatu metode dalam pemecahan masalah soal cerita sistem persamaan linear dua variabel, namun subjek field dependent (SFD) tidak menuliskan beberapa model matematika atau persamaan garis lurus khususnya pada soal cerita yang kedua. 2) taksonomi pengetahuan siswa SFI dan SFD dalam pemecahan masalah soal cerita sistem persamaan linear dua variabel adalah: a) Pengetahuan Faktual (PF) yaitu SFI dan SFD mengetahui fakta atau istilah yang dinyatakan secara eksplisit dalam pemecahan masalah soal cerita sistem persamaan linear dua variabel. b) Pengetahuan Konseptual (PK) yaitu SFI dan SFD menuliskan model matematika dan menetapkan suatu metode serta menuliskan persamaan garis lurus dalam pemecahan masalah soal cerita sistem persamaan linear dua variabel. c) Pengetahuan Metakognitif (PM) yaitu SFI dan SFD sadar akan kelebihan dan kekurangan serta kesalahan dalam pemecahan soal cerita sistem persamaan linear dua variabel. The Profile of Knowledge Taxonomy of Junior High School Student in Solving Story Problem of Linear Equation System of Two Variables Based on Cognitive Style (supervised by Suradi Tahmir and Alimuddin). The Study aimed at discovering (1) the profile of knowledge taxonomy of student in solving story problem of linear equation system of two variables based on cognitive style, (2) the comparison of knowledge taxonomy of student in solving story problem of linear equation system of two variables based on cognitive style. The Study is a qualitative research. The instrument of the study was the researcher himself as the main instrument guided by tasks in solving story problem of linear equation system of two variables and a valid, reliable guided interview. Data were collected by conducting task based interview. The subjects of the study were two grade VIII students of SMPN 5 Marioriwawo in Soppeng district consisted of one student who categorized as field independent named as SFI (subject field independent) and one student who categorized as field dependent named as SFD (subject field dependent). The phases of the study process were as follows: a) formulating the indicators of knowledge taxonomy in solving story problem of linear equation system of two variables based on cognitive style, b) formulating a valid and reliable supporting instrument (tasks in solving story problem of linear equation system of two variables based on cognitive style and guided interview), c) determining the research subjects by employing GEFT test, d) choosing the research subjects, e) taking the data to reveal the profile of knowledge taxonomy of the student in solving story problem of linear equation system of two variables, f) condected triangulation to obtain a valid data, g) conducted data analysis of knowledge taxonomy of the students in solving story problem of linear equation system of two variables based on cognitive style, h) conducting the result of analysis discussion, and i) drawing conclusion of the result of the study. The results of the study reveal that (1) there was no significant difference between knowledge taxonomy SFI and SFD in solving story problem of linear equation system of two variables based on kognitive style, there was only major difference on conceptual knowledge that SFI wrote mathematics model and determined a method in solving story problem of linear equation system of two variables but SFD did not write several mathematics model particularly on the second story problem; (2) the knowledge taxonomy of student SFI and SFD were as follows: a) the factual knowledge, SFI and SFD knew the fact or terminology which explicity stated in solving story problem of linear equation system of two variables, b) conceptual knowledge, SFI and SFD wrote the mathematics model and determined a method as well as wrote straight line equation in solving story problem of linear equation system of two variables, and c) metacognitive knowledge, SFI and SFD were aware on the strengths and weaknesses as well as the mistakes in solving story problem of linera equation system of two variables.
