Abstract

The research aimed to discover the description of creative thingking process ini geometry problem solving based on Geometry ability levels of class VIII students at MTS Madani alauddin. The research was descriptive research with qualitative approach. The subjects of the research were 6 students who were divided into 3 ability categories, namely 2 subjects with high abilities, 2 subjects with medium abilities, and 2 subjects with low abilities from the students of class IX at MTS Madani Alauddin. The instruments of the research were the researcher himself as the main instrument and ability test, creative thingking ability test I and I, and interview guidance as supporting instruments. The data obtained were analyzed with several stages, namely; (1) reviewing the entire data from various sources; (2) data reduction; (3) data presentation; (4) making coding; (5) data presentation; (6) drawing conclusion. The results of the research reveal that in solving problems/questions given; (1) Subjects with high ability are able to emerge fluency indicators well because there are initial materials that support to answer questions. In addition, the subject is also able to bring up indicators of flexibility (flexibility) even though the answers given are limited and the subject can bring up indicators of originality (Originality). However, the subject cannot bring up the originality indicator; (2) Subjects with moderate abilities are able to bring up creative thinking indicators, namely indicators of fluency, and originality, but for fluency indicators the subject is able to answer with correct but not diverse answers. But the subject cannot bring up indicators of flexibility (flexibility); (3) Subjects with low ability are also unable to bring up creative thinking indicators, namely indicators of fluency, flexibility. But the subject raises originality (Originality), because the subject gives answers according to his thoughts. Keywords: Creative Thinking Process, Problem Solving, Ability Level
