Abstract

ABSTRAK NURLIDIA. Komparasi Keefektifan Pendekatan Saintifik, Problem Solving, dan Open Ended Setting Discovery Learning dalam Pembelajaran Matematika Materi Lingkaran di Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sinjai Timur (dibimbing oleh Muhammad Darwis M dan Hisyam Ihsan) Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan keefektifan Pendekatan saintifik, Problem Solving dan Open Ended setting Discovery Learning dalam pembelajaran matematika materi lingkaran pada kelas VIII SMP negeri 2 Sinjai Timur (2) Mengetahui Pendekatan Saintifik setting Discovery Learning lebih efektif daripada Pendekatan Problem Solving setting discovery learning dalam pembelajaran matematika materi lingkaran pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sinjai Timur (3) Mengetahui Pendekatan Problem Solving setting Discovery learning lebih efektif daripada Pendekatan Open Ended setting Discovery Learning dalam pembelajaran matematika materi lingkaran pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sinjai Timur. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP SMP Negeri 2 Sinjai Timur dan sampel terdiri dari tiga kelas yakni kelas eksperimen I diajarkan menggunakan pendekatan saintifik setting discovery learning, kelas eksperimen II diajarkan menggunakan Pendekatan problem Solving setting discovery learning, dan kelas eksprimen III diajarkan menggunakan Pendekatan open ended setting discovery learning yang dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Data yang dikumpulkan terdiri data atas prestasi belajar siswa, data aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran, dan data respons siswa terhadap perangkat dan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) keterlaksanaan Pembelajaran dengan Pendekatan saintifik, Pendekatan Problem Solving, dan pendekatan Open Ended setting discovery learning dalam materi lingkaran terlaksana dengan baik. (2) penerapan Pendekatan saintifik , Pendekatan Problem Solving, dan pendekatan Open Ended setting discovery learning dalam pembelajaran matematika materi lingkaran pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sinjai Timur efektif ditinjau dari aspek: (a) prestasi belajar siswa; (b) aktivitas belajar siswa; dan (c) respons siswa. Hasil uji hipotesis pada taraf siginifikan α=0,05 dengan uji-t menunjukan Pendekatan saintifik setting discovery learning lebih efektif dari pada Pendekatan Problem Solving dan pendekatan Open Ended setting discovery learning materi lingkaran pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sinjai Timur. The Effectiveness Comparison of Scientific, problem Solving, and Open Ended Approach of Discovery Learning Setting in Mathematics on Circle Material in Class VIII at SMP Negeri 2 East Sinjai(supervised by Muhammad Darwis M. Hisyam Ihsan). The research was an expriment research which aimed to examine : (1) The effectiveness of scientific approach, problem solving, and open ended approach of discovery learning setting in mathematics on circle material in class VIII at SMP Negeri 2 Sinjai Timur, (2) whether scientific approach of discovery learning setting was more effective than problem solving approach of discovery learning setting in mathematics on circle material in class VIII at SMP Negeri 2 Sinjai Timur, (3) whether the problem solving approach of discovery learning setting was more effective than open ended approach of discovery learning setting in mathematics on circle material in class VIII at SMP Negeri 2 Sinjai Timur. The population of the research was all of the students in class VIII at SMP Negeri 2 Sinjai Timur. The samples of research consisted of three classas, namely expriment class I taught by scientific approach of discovery learning setting, expriment class II taught by problem solving approach of discovery learning setting, and expriment class III taught by open ended approach of discovery learning setting, taken by employing simple random sampling technique, the data collection consisted of the students’ learning achievement, the students’ activity in learning and the students’response toward the device and the learning. The results of research showed that : (1) the implementation of learning ith scientific, problem solving, and open ended approach of discovery learning setting on circle material was implemented well, (2) the implementation of learning ith scientific, problem solving, and open ended approach of discovery learning setting in mathematics on circle material in class VIII at SMP negeri 2 Sinjai Timur was effective based on the aspects : (a) the students’ learning achievent; (b) the students’ learning activity; and (c) the students’ response. The result of hypothesis test in sicnificant level α = 0.05 with t-test showed that Scientific approach of discovery learning setting was more effective than Problem Solving and Open Ended approach of discovery learning setting on circle material to class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Sinjai Timur.
