Abstract
The study aims at describing the critical thinking process of UNM Postagraduate students in 2016/2017 in solving graph theory problems in terms of cognitif style of FI and FD. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of four students who were selected based on the GEFT test score. Two subjects with FI cognitive style and two subjects with FD cognitive style. Furthermore, the researcher gave a problem solving test on the basic concept material of the graph and conducted interviews with each subjects. Checking the validity of the data using triangulation methods. Analysis of students critical thinking processes refers to four stages: clarification, assessment, inference, and strtategy. Data analysis is carried out with the following steps: data reduction, data presentation, verification, and conclusion. The result of the research show that (1) critical thinking process of students with the FI cognitif style in solving problems is carrying out clarification, assessment, inference, and strategy, (2) critical thinking process of students with the FD cognitif style in solving problems is carrying out clarification, assessment, and inference, (3) the dfference between critical thinking processes of FI and FD istudents in solving problems is tha students with FI cognitive style are able to solve problems by following all stages of the critical thinking process while students with FD cognitive style are able to solve problems with three stages of critical thinking process.
