Abstract

Abstrak Type of this reasearch is quasi experimental with pretest-posttest control group design. The variable in this research is independent variable in form of peer teaching method and dependent variable is mathematics self-efficacy and students mathamatics learning outcomes. The population in this research is students in VIII class SMPN 24 Makassar. To take the sample, this reasearch using simple random sampling. VIII 4 class choose as experimental class, and VIII 7 class choose as control class. The instrument of collecting data is pretest-posttest mathematics achievement test and self efficacy questionaire. Data analyzing using parametric test. Independent and normalizing gain (N-gain). Reseach result show that : (1) Student mathematics self-efficacy thaugh by peer teaching method in high category with percentage 20% in very high category, 75% in high category, and 5% in medium category (2) student mathematics self-efficacy thaugh by convensional method in high category with percentage 3% students in very high category, 42% in high category, and 55% in medium category (3) student mathematics learning outcome thaugh by peer teaching method in high category with percentage 33% students in very high category,and 67% in high category (4) student mathematics learning outcome thaugh by conventional method in high category with percentage 8% students in very high category, 36% in high category, and 56% in medium category (5) Students mathematics self-efficacy taught by peer teaching method higher than students taught by conventional method (6) Students mathematics learning outcomes taught by peer teaching method higher than students taught by using conventional method.
