Abstract

ABSTRACT This study employed research and development (R&D) which aims at producing a valid, effective and practical video clip media of SPLDV learning. The development procedure of this video clip media of SPLDV learning referred to 4-D Thiagarajan model which consisted of four stages, namely defining, design, development, and dissemination. The assessment instrument consiststed of three, namely (1) the validity instrument are in forms of validity assessment instrument of video clip media of SPLDV learning and its supporting devices, (2) the effectiveness instruments are in forms of media implementation observation and learning device, teacher’s activity, student’s activity, and learning result of students, and (3) practicality instruments are in forms of teacher and student’s response questionnaire on utilization of media, the media, and learning device. The result Based on data analysis are as follows: (1) in general, the mean of media validity and learning device are stated as valid based on two assessors; (2) In general, the test result had met the effectiveness criteria based on four components of effectiveness, namely (a) the analysis result on learning implementation by utilizing video clip media of SPLDV learning and its supporting device with Problem Based Learning during the tryout indicates that most of it was implemented, (b) all of student’s activities observed had met the ideal time interval which had been set beforehend, (c) teacher’s ability in learning management by utilizing Problem Based Learning is in high, and (d) 89% of students had achieved learning completeness score; (3) In general, the results of tryout had met the practical criteria based on six practical components, namely (a) the percentage of teachers' positive response on media utilization in learning by 79.4%, (b) the percentage of teacher positive response on the media by 81.9%, (c) the percentage of teachers’ positive response on learning device by 81.3%, (d) the percentage of students' positive response on media utilization in learning by 82.2%, (e) the percentage of students’ positive response on by 90.9%, and (f) the percentage of students' positive response on learning device had met the set criteria by 89.0%.
