Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of cooperative learning model in a vocational school. Methods This study uses an evaluation study model. The instrument used as the reference assessment, that is: 1) the suitability of the model is applied to the student's ability, 2) fulfill elements of cooperative learning, 3) increase student learning outcomes. Data was gathered through a literature study and documentation methods. Data collected in a qualitative analysis. The results obtained are as follows: (1) according to three studies have applied the model by taking into account the ability of student learning, (2) Two studies that have fulfill the five elements of cooperative learning and research only fulfill one of the elements of cooperative learning, (3) cooperative learning model is able improve student achievement. Application of models of cooperative learning in vocational expected to adjust to the ability of the student and the subject matter and with regard to the elements of cooperative learning are: positive interdependence ¸ individual accountability, face-to-face promotive interaction, Appropriate use of collaborative skills, and group processing.
